Please join me in attending Black Bull: A Durham Cabaret on May 30, 2009 at the Pinhook Bar in Durham. The show will begin promptly at 10pm and will last approximately two hours. A DJed dance party will immediately follow.
There will be at least one whistling drag queen, four inaugural poems, a goldfish, three Cole Porter renditions, an atonal marching band, twenty indeterminate anecdotes, various and sundry "readings," two exploitative/exploited comedians, and bounties of burlesque, ukuleles, dance, glam, and pizazz.
Audience participation in, irreverence for, and subversion of the performances is encouraged. Ribaldry and rambunctiousness is expected. Cabaret-themed drinks will be drunk.
The event is being organized by Ignacio Adriasola, Megan Stein, Tony Woodard, Gabi Wurmitzer and myself. All artists and performers are from the Triangle area.
